Nick Booth is podcaster and social media consultant based in Birmingham. He moved from mainstream journalism as a documentary maker for BBC 1, BBC 2 and BBC Radio 4 into experimenting with social media in 2005. That is when he established www.podnosh.com and created the Grassroots Channel - a podcast telling the stories of active citizens in Birmingham.
Besides making audio and video programmes Nick's work involves advising organisations on the impact and opportunities of social media, such as blogging, podcasting, youtube, flickr and other social networking sites. He is a member of the NCVO ICT Foresight team which advises the voluntary sector on the strategic implications of technology changes and thinks he's probably the first person in 250 years to be invited to become a Fellow of the RSA for working as a podcaster. Nick also works for Creative Partnerships teaching podcasting and storytelling, is a leadership consultant with Caret Ltd, a trustee of the Birmingham Conservation trust and a School Governor at Ninestiles.
