MusicLeader West Midlands CANCELLED

30th October 2007 , starts: 15:30

PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

MusicLeader West Midlands is a Youth Music initiative committed to supporting anyone involved in music provision for young people, and as part of national Youth Music Week, 24 to 31 October 2007, has come together with the 3 Youth Music Action Zones in the region (Make Some Noise, New Roots, and sound futures) to create The Music Leaders’ Marketplace.

The Marketplace will run from 3:30 to 6:30pm on Tuesday 30 October 2007 at Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton. Music leaders of varying experience and a wide range of genres will be promoting their workshop services from stalls, providing information and demonstrations in order to entice potential employers.

These potential employers or ‘buyers’ will attend from an array of backgrounds such as community music delivery organisations, music services, youth services and schools, and will benefit from face-to-face contact with the music leaders as well as the opportunity to network with other buyers.

Other features of the event include:

o a half-hour talk session whereby key buyers will communicate how music leaders should go about approaching them for employment.

o an accompanying information pack containing music leader and buyer listings

Baz Chapman, Director of MusicLeader West Midlands, says: there’s a lot of demand around for gifted workshop leaders, but it can be difficult to pair up the right settings with the right musicians. The Music Leaders’ Marketplace aims to address this by providing the opportunity to meet music leaders and find out about their work in person, under one roof!

For further details and to book as a stall holder or buyer at the event, please contact Kate Adams, Project Co-ordinator at MusicLeader West Midlands on 0121 236 7978 or west-midlands@musicleader.net
