Regional Press Network
Proposed topic : Vanishing 'traditional' media and its impact on arts and cultural organisations
Picking up from 2009's Press Network we hope to take a look at the traditional media in the region.
Last year saw the closure of several high profile magazines and newspapers and print, radio, TV and digital media organisations centralising and down-sizing services: what impact has this had on the arts sector? Though new titles have launched recently, has the downward spiral stopped?
The second Regional Press Network of 2010 takes place at the brand new mac in Cannon Hill Park. Your chance to see how the venue has changed as the session will be followed by a tour of the building.
!! UPDATE !!
We'd like to confirm that our special guest for the event will be Lorne Jackson, from BPM Media. Lorne is Arts Editor of the Birmingham Post, Birmingham Mail and Sunday Mercury. This is your chance to hear about the latest developments at the titles, their plans for cultural coverage ... and also an opportunity for you to pitch a few ideas for future features ...
